Motherhood isn’t for the faint of heart—especially if you’re juggling it all while trying to keep your peace, and your sense of self intact. Between midnight feedings, endless laundry, and a baby who refuses to nap, it’s easy to feel like you’re barely surviving.

Here’s the thing: you’re not alone. According to the CDC, about 1 in 8 women experience symptoms of postpartum depression, and that number climbs even higher in communities of color due to cultural stigma, lack of access, and the pressure to “handle it all.”

If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or detached—it’s not a reflection of your strength. It’s your body and mind asking for help. The truth is, taking care of your mental health doesn’t make you weak, it keeps you here for the long game of parenting.

3 Tips just for YOU.

1. Don’t suffer in silence—share your truth. Even if it’s just one person you trust, talking about how you really feel can be a powerful release. Vulnerability isn’t weakness—it’s emotional maintenance.

2. Rest is resistance. Sleep when you can, and when you can’t, find quiet moments to recharge. The world tells mothers to “keep going,” but slowing down is how you heal and reconnect with yourself.

3. Get screened. Sometimes what looks like exhaustion or “mom brain” could be undiagnosed ADHD or postpartum anxiety. Studies from Harvard and Princeton show ADHD in women—especially Black and Latina mothers—often goes unnoticed because symptoms present differently.

If you’ve been feeling scattered, irritable, or like you’re constantly “dropping the ball,” it’s worth exploring whether something deeper is at play.
